Membership in the Alliance is open to independent law firms headquartered in the jurisdiction in which membership is sought. Applicant firms should be of significant stature and reputation, with a broadly-based corporate business and litigation practice and demonstrated expertise in international business matters. The Alliance accepts one firm per jurisdiction. In most cases, this means one member firm per country. There are multiple Alliance firms in some countries, including the US, Canada, Australia, Mexico and Brazil.
The Alliance is exclusive in that member firm may not belong to any formal international organization whose stated purpose is deemed competitive to the Alliance. Furthermore, member firms may not publically promote strategies that compete in purpose with the Alliance, whether under their own name or through formal relationships with non-Alliance members.
Firms must demonstrate an ongoing commitment to the operation and development of the Alliance, including participation in annual and regional meetings, timely payment of dues, prompt response to requests and referrals from other firms, and participation in additional Alliance activities.
Alliance members must annually certify that they continue to meet all membership requirements to remain in the organization. All member contacts must be fully proficient in written and spoken English.
Member dues are calculated based on firm size and geographic location. For new firms, an initiation fee is to be submitted with the membership application. New firms are then assessed ongoing membership dues for their first year in an amount equal to their initiation fee.
Enquiries from prospective members are welcome. For further information about joining the Alliance, please contact:
